I've been a customer for over a year and was very happy when they handled ONLY my HIV meds, but then I transferred all my Rx to them and things got confusing & delayed often times. This is a huge pharmacy, yet they tell me they run out of medications but don't tell me until the day of. It's feeling like they are more interested in growing the business to become #1 volume pharmacy in the US, than to be interested in me as an individual that relies on this daily medication for quality of life. If your on Ryan White/ADAP do yourself a favor & go to the Ramsell Corp website & find another qualified pharmacy.
Worst service EVER! One time they gave me someone else's medications! Every single month I go through the SAME thing: I call the Phoenix location (where I was told to call when I was enrolled) but they end up telling me to call Tucson's location who, guess what? tells me to call Phoenix! Every single month! For the past couple YEARS! If I could go elsewhere for the sake of God almighty I would! But specialty insurance forces me to use these inept walking contradictions. Thinking of going here? Don't! Turn around and RUN AWAY!!
This is the worst Pharmacy I have ever used. They have messed up every delivery. If you need them to be delivered like me don't count on to getting there that day. Make sure to cal and follow up.
My new doc recommended them saying they'd get my prescriptions to me in a day or 2... WRONG! 6 days later and still no meds. They said they would send Friday and if receive today. Whoever was going to set that up did not! Still waiting, now say tomorrow. Who knows? Plus will be missing a med supposedly waiting for insurance approval. Wal mart never had that issue. After this, I REFUSE to use Avella every again! Wal Mart isn't the greatest, but they sure rate above Avella!
I used to have a secondary insurance company that paid my co-pays. When insurance is changed I got a different primary. The secondary one was still there and paying my co-pays. I had called a week in advance to refill my prescriptions because Avella Pharmacy always mail them to me. They did not say anything to me about anything being amiss or wrong or anything. Well it was the morning of my last day of medication and I got out of work early so I called Avella and said hey if you haven't put them in the mail already hang on to them and I'll come get them. That's when they informed me that they had not filled my prescriptions because my secondary insurance company had turned and they were not paying the co-pay. So while I was trying to get the secondary Company reenacted to pay the co-pay I was out of medication for 3 days. On that Thursday I called back to Avella and found out that my copay was only $35. I was completely outraged to say the least that no one in all of these phone calls ever mentioned to me that the co-pay was only $35. So I went all the way across town to this Pharmacy to pay the $35 and collect my medication. The next time my medication was due I called and told them to refill my prescriptions. That's when they told me that one of my medications no longer had any refills on it and I needed to contact my Dr. I asked specifically at that point was that everything that I needed to do I only needed to get a refill on that one medication my regular insurance was still enforced the co-pays were only $35 and I was coming to pick them up that afternoon. I was told yes everything was okay but my insurance wouldn't let them fill the prescriptions until the next day which was on a holiday weekend so I couldn't pick them up until Tuesday. I said that was fine I still had enough until then. I called my doctor directly on her cell phone she sent the prescription over and I waited until Tuesday. I drove all the way across town again to go pick up my prescriptions. When I got there one of them was missing. When I asked about it she said that that one didn't have any refills. Again I am completely outraged that I specifically asked the previous week if everything else was okay they said yes and then when I get there now all the sudden they see that one of them doesn't have a refill. I am so sick of this Pharmacy inadequacies and screw-ups I called my doctor as soon as I left from the car and asked her to find me another Pharmacy to use.
